At 1558 hours companies were dispatched to route 9 southbound prior to exit 23 for a car fire. Upon arrival of car 11 he found 1 vehicle with fire in the engine compartment. The crew from engine 10 stretched a hose line with assistance from squad 4. The fire was brought under control a short time later. Rescue 1 provided blocking for the incident. Companies cleared a short time later. No injuries to the vehicle's occupants or fire personnel.
