At 1237pm on Monday November 7th Berlin Police dispatchers began receiving 911 calls for a reported brush fire with smoke in the area of Edgewood road near the hallmere reservoir. Southington and Meriden fire departments were also investigating the same incident. Car 42 assumed command of the indicent as crews began deploying manpower and equipment. Initial reports from the fire area was the fire was approximately 4-5 acres in size. At that pointcrews began establishing a perimeter to contain the fire. Companies operated for approximately 5 hours suppressing and overhauling the fire with assistance from the state forestry service. Great job by all!
