Honoring Retired Chief James Simons

April 22, 2017

On Friday, April 21, 2017, the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department honored Retired Chief James Simons for 24 years of service as Chief of the Department. A dinner was held at the Farmington Club and the turnout was incredible. The party was a surprise and the Chief was honored by many area fire departments along with the Berlin Police department, Town and State officials, Central CT State University also presented a proclamation to Chief Simons for his long-time assistance as an adjunct instructor for the Emergency Medical training program. The Berlin Fire Departments as well as the citizens of the town of Berlin are better because of Chief Simons' unselfish and untiring dedication to his department and community.
