Crews respond to early morning structure fire

Shortly after 3am our dispatch center received a call from #80 Casner drive stating that his basement was filling with smoke. A Berlin Police officer in the area arrived prior to the fire department reporting smoke and fire showing from the basement. Car 31 Chief Simons assumed command of the incident, crews operated on scene for about 2 hours. The fire marshal is investigating the cause, no injuries to the homeowners or fire personnel. Great job by all!
