During the ceremony the state honored Firefighter Robert Sharkovich, who lost his life October 22nd fighting to protect the residents living at the base of Lamentation Mountain.
Members of the Sharkovich family, with members of the Wethersfield Fire Department, received a flag and commendation presented by Governor Lamont.

The Wethersfield Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department and Town of Berlin Fire Departments, Connecticut also received special recognition by the Governor, along with commendations to over 70 cooperating agencies.
