As of 11/6 the fire is 73 percent contained and holding at 127 acres. Crews will continue to watch for hot spots and flare ups while dry conditions persist.

A portion of Giuffrida Park is now open as of today. The reservoir loop and Chauncey Peak will now be accessible.
The red and yellow blazed trails on the West side of the park will remain closed along with the portion of the blue blazed Mattabasset from Giuffrida Park in Meriden to Lamentation Drive in Berlin.
The closed trail heads have been marked as seen below and we ask the public and to respect those closures. Hose and equipment remain in place and until the remaining hazards are clear your safety is our number one priority.
