Recently Berlin Upbeat students visited the firehouse to deliver care baskets for the Town's Four Fire Departments.
Students raised money which was used to purchase card games and stuffed animals.
Stuffed animals are commonly used to help comfort children at incidents such as vehicle accidents.
Card games will be put to good use by members of the department. It is common practice for responders to sit together at the bay table after a call to discuss an incident, or pass time after waking up for a early morning call. It is an important part of creating the bond that makes firefighting teams so unique and card games are a popular activity during these times.
