MVA - Berlin Turnpike South of Meadow Lane

At 7:37 pm, Berlin Fire Company 3 was dispatched to a reported car into telephone pole on the Berlin Turnpike south of Meadow Lane. Upon arrival it was found the car had hit a pole, proceed to go over a guard rail and down an embankment. Car 33 assumed command and requested the addition of Companies 1, East Berlin, and 2, Kensington, for equipment and manpower. Upon arrival, incident command was transferred to Car 11 while Car 33 assumed Operations Command. Crews proceeded to stabilize the vehicle with a winch cable from Rescue 1 while another crew began rigging a hoist system to bring the patient up the embankment. The patient was turned over to Hunters Ambulance and transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. Once the patient was transported the scene was turned over to PD for further investigation.
